When K-drama, K-pop & the BB cream had their big debut, beauty junkies from over the world have become obsessed with Korean skin care, beauty and just about all things Korean. As the new year is fast approaching, beauty enthusiasts are once again eager to find out which trends to look forward to in the world of Korean beauty.

Move over dewy skin! 'Glass' skin is the newest trend to hit the Korean beauty world (& the universe, rather) as far as #skingoals are concerned. It is described as healthy, well-hydrated & plump skin that looks crystal clear, like glass. This latest trend has sent women scrambling all over the internet looking for the best products and tutorial videos to help them achieve this look. As a matter of fact, this trend has gone viral over the last 2 months that there have been numerous posts written on which products or techniques to use to achieve the highly coveted crystal clear complexion.
2. Honey SkinBefore 'glass' skin became all the rage, the more widespread K-beauty trend in skin used to be 'honey' skin. Honey skin is simply described as incredibly luminous, soft & supple skin like that of a newborn baby's. It turns out honey skin or “gul pibuu” still is & always has been ultimate K-beauty #skingoals. While glass skin is all about radiance, honey skin is about keeping skin clear, elastic & plump.
3. JamsuAlthough this is not exactly new, Jamsu is a beauty hack that women from all over have yet to include in their regular makeup routines. What is it exactly? Jamsu is a popular makeup 'baking' technique that involves dunking or submerging your freshly made-up face set with powder, into ice-cold water for a few seconds to 'seal in' all that makeup goodness. Those who have tried it loved that it gave their makeup a matte-but-not-flat finish. Most of them have said that doing 'Jamsu' gave them an oil-free glow. The cold water "bakes" the makeup into the skin giving it a seamless & flawless finish. It is so life-changing that even Western celebrities have started to embrace and swear by this beauty hack.
4. Low pH CleansersMore and more people have become aware that pH balance is essential to skin health. Cleansers that are alkaline or have a high pH balance may disrupt our skin's acidity. This is especially important if you are struggling with acne or other skin issues (rosacea and others). Studies have shown that even with short-term use, high pH cleansers are said to attract bacteria and infection because they strip the skin of natural oils and damages the skin's barrier. A word to the wise, better go check what's in your cleanser and make that big switch quick.
